Vietnam Multi-Sport

Hike, Sea Kayak, and Encounter the Culture in this "Best of Vietnam" Adventure

Vietnam is a land of rich beauty. From tall mountains and limestone formations to dense jungles, river deltas, and pristine beaches--its ecological treasures alone make it a unique destination. Combine this with a wonderful and fascinating culture and history, and you'll soon experience why Vietnam is so special.

Days 1-4 Hanoi-Village Trek. After an orientation dinner in Hanoi, we begin our trek the next day to Hang Kia village. We stay with the H'mong people in a traditional long house, situated in a picturesque valley of peach orchards. A trek through tropical rain forest descends to Mai Chau Valley, passing through seldom-visited White Thai villages. Arriving in Van village we're toasted as honored guests and offered homemade rice wine! We continue past several more hamlets while hiking through a valley of rice paddies and meet our waiting vehicle in Mai Chau for the transfer back to Hanoi.

Days 5-6 Halong Bay. With more than a thousand limestone peaks rising from its crystalline waters, Halong Bay is rightly viewed as one of the natural wonders of Vietnam and is a World Heritage site. Enjoy the bay from the luxury of a "junk", from which we relax on the deck, swim in aqua blue waters, kayak secluded lagoons and enjoy savory cuisine.

Days 7-8 Hoi An. Shop or just sightsee in the old quarter of Hanoi this morning. Fly this afternoon to Danang and transfer to Hoi An, a charming town which we explore on foot. A thriving international trading port between the 17th and 19th centuries, Hoi An retains the feeling of centuries past and is a favorite with all travelers. Soak up the atmosphere and explore Chinese assembly halls and ancestral homes, some of which have been in the same family for fifteen generations.

Days 9-12 Ho Chi Minh City-Mekong Delta. This morning we fly from Danang to Ho Chi Minh City and spend the afternoon touring the War Remnants Museum, Reunification Palace and Binh Tay market. We then head for the Mekong Delta where we take a boat up the mighty Mekong River before settling in to another home stay for the night. We return to Ho Chi Minh for a free afternoon and our farewell dinner.
