Hike, Bike and Raft in Glacier and Waterton National Parks
The magnificent parklands of Montana's Glacier and Alberta's Waterton feature some of the most dramatic mountain scenery on earth. Immerse yourself in this mountain wilderness still wild with moose, bear, and bighorn sheep. Hike amid jagged, glacier-carved peaks and through sweet-smelling valley floors blanketed with wildflowers. Bike over the Continental Divide by azure lakes. And raft the thrilling Flathead River on this diverse, action-packed trip.
Day 1 Lake McDonald. After meeting in Whitefish, our journey begins with a refreshing splash of whitewater rafting on the Flathead River, where we paddle rapids with colorful names such as Jaws, Pinball and Pumphouse.
Day 2 Going-to-the-Sun. Our bike ride on Glacier's renowned Going-to the-Sun Road crests on the Continental Divide. This ride offers spectacular alpine vistas and a thrilling afternoon descent. We then shuttle across the Canadian border to spectacular Waterton Lakes National Park.
Days 3-4 Waterton Lakes. Our hikes in Waterton Lakes National Park feature wildflowers, waterfall-crowned valleys, and surreal landscapes of alpine tundra as we hike from Cameron Lake to Carthew Pass. The next day it's on to beautiful Rowe Lake with magnificent views of Lineham Ridge.
Days 5-6 Many Glacier Valley. Explore "America's Little Switzerland" with a naturalist-led hike to Grinnell Glacier before bicycling along the glacier-gouged Two Medicine Lakes.
