Campouts Save Money on Yellowstone/Teton Tour

Budget-minded vacationers will find a variety of affordable options among the Grand Teton and Yellowstone Park packages offered this season by The World Outdoors—an established leader in national parks tours since 1988.

Families, solo travelers, and other active adults can save $900 per person on a six-day adventure tour simply by choosing the more rustic experience of tent camping rather than spending all their nights at regional inns. Those who want a little more comfort can choose a combination of inns and camping and still save hundreds of dollars.

"The combination of inns and camping is ideal for a family that wants to test the waters," company owner Bill Marriner says. "Mom might want to try the experience of camping for a couple of nights and still look forward to three nights on a soft bed."

Regardless of their overnight accommodations, guests on the Grand Teton-Yellowstone Multi-Sport tour can look forward to six action-packed days of hiking, biking, rafting, and introductory rock climbing amidst spectacular peaks and cool, calming lakes.

As a specialist in off-the-beaten-path vacations, The World Outdoors packs its traditional national parks repertoire with unique ventures. Instead of stopping at all the parking-lot overlooks to observe the glorious Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, for instance, guests on this tour hike for seven unforgettable miles along the rim.

Other highlights include bike riding through the Bridger-Teton Forest with a gradual descent through alpine meadows; a hike to the summit of Avalanche Peak for its panoramic view of the Absarokas and serene Yellowstone Lake; a morning of wildlife watching in pastoral Hayden Valley; and plenty of time with geysers and waterfalls.

In Grand Teton Park, guests can experience the thrill of rock climbing near cascading Hidden Falls, choose an optional canoe trip across crystal-clear Jenny Lake, and enjoy an afternoon of whitewater rafting on the famed Snake River.

The World Outdoors offers the Grand Teton-Yellowstone Multi-Sport tour from June-September, with special trips tailored to families and singles. This moderately easy adventure is best suited for ages 8 and older. Cost starts at $1,395. The company also offers the "Yellowstone Hiker," featuring six days of hiking and horseback riding.
